The M-GAGE is a passive sensor and doesn’t have a field of view, per se. It can detect changes in the magnetic field in all directions. If you were to hold it in the air, this area of detection would look like a sphere. This sphere has a diameter of approximately 6 feet.

An inductive loop is basically the antenna of an active circuit. The inductive sensors checks the change of inductance and switches the circuit when it detects a large ferrous object. The 3" M-GAGE sensor typically performs like a 6' diameter inductive loop. In addition it is quicker and less expensive to install, less prone to damage in the unstable substrates, detects stopped vehicles. The M-GAGE is easily wired into existing control infrastructure and can also be used as a lowprofile photo radar trigger.
